Nobody listens to Turtle

Try to be like the turtle - at ease in your own shell.

Lately, we've all been kiting and seen tons of turtle out in the water. They seem to always pop up right in front of you when you are riding. Sometimes, I am not sure who get's more startled them or us. While riding we also see a "humpernickle" or a turtle piles, having at it; really not much is known about mating. Here are some turtle facts: There are three species of sea turtles native to the Hawaiian Islands: the Green, the Hawksbill, and the Leatherback. These fascinating creatures have played important roles in the environment and culture of Hawaii's people, so don't hit the turtle. Of the three native sea turtles, the Green Turtle (Honu) is the most common.
These turtles, which can weigh up to 400 pounds, are primarily vegetarians. They eat algae or limu (Hawaiian seaweed) growing underwater on coral reefs and on rocks close to shore. Green turtles prefer to live near large "pastures" of limu that are located in near shore waters around the Hawaiian Islands. A great place that is real close to kitebeach is down at the Harbor. There are only two predators...people and tiger sharks. Next time you see a turtle just wave as as you go by.

As for the poll: Charles, I am the tie-breaker...let's make a t-shirt!
