Maui Mini Movie: Bones Brigade
Ok Windies this is one I whipped out. There is a lot of water shots and different perspectives going on, the original title was "altered states". Toast and I were going for some back and forth viewpoints. Each shot had a different angle. The Jonnyboy shot at the end was a classic. I heard about Jim Bones and thought I would lend a hand, so I changed the title and asked Caprice to do a short talk about his situation. So, many things can happen in a week when it's blowing 40 all the time. Aloha and good luck

Maui Mini Movie: Alien vs Predator
This was probably the funnest movie to shoot. I got some really gnarly days that turned out to be really extreme. The water housing was really neat to use. I really think I could be addicted to the housing. Could I swim one of those bad-boys out to lanes on a big day....we shall see. Aloha and Good Luck

Day of Days: Tsunami Sessions
Some days are not like others. The energy on the day of the tsunami was chaotic, you could just feel it in the air. After having ten plus people crash at my house, I was fatigued, over exhausted and just wired out. We drove down to the beach just to check things out. I basically made one of my worst movies that has recently got more than 12000 hits on You Tube. People want to know.
I didn't want to drive home yet, all the beaches were closed, just a quick check of Lanes. We arrived to see only kites up. The windsurfers were locked out and only the brave ones dropped off the rock to get out. Lanes, nasty old lanes was open, and the kiters were on it. I walked out to the point, cringing of how perfect it was and shot some film.
Only once in a long while this happens: The Point and Middles being dominated by kiters. Usually, the horn sounds by the lifeguards, and you have to go down wind to Lanes. But today, with every beach closed it was the Super Session that ever Maui kiter has been looking for...epic Point. In Maui we are blessed with great people, a beautiful culture and insane wind and waves. Watching all the events in Japan our thoughts and prayers go out to them. If you can donate a little money. Aloha, good luck ,watch and enjoy!

Hawaii Stylee-2
Legend Larry Bertlemann one of Hawaii's premiere style masters from the seventies. Watch the rail to rail with the power carves on the single fin. Sometimes, it is good to go through archives, watching and learning from the masters. Kitesurfing is not so removed from 70's style surfing. I love watching the power turning and slashing. To have style is to have originality. There is nothing wrong with grabbing some concept from a previous generation, but making it your own is the difficult part. Find something, master it, change it with your own signature. Don't copy it, and assume you are going to get respect. Aloha and good luck.

Maui Mini Movie: Opacity
Sleazy J and the boys have a little fun at Secrets. Do you know where Secrets is? Let me give you a hint, it's somewhere between a sewage treatment plant and a tiger shark breeding ground. The fishermen will throw rocks at you and the reef is as sharp as razors. It takes a 4x4 to get there and when you get back to your car the tires might be missing. And if you are really unlucky the locals will cut your lines if they see you on land with your kite. Aloha and good luck.

Maui Mini Movie: Tales from the Darkside
Opening day kitebeach and the boys were throwing down. It's fun to have a super good morning sess ripping up the waves and then in the afternoon go and shoot some of the guys riding the boots in the pro pool. Wake style tricks are always the most technical; and if you can catch a grab in the mix all the more better. Unhook, spin, invert, handle-pass, grab are all the actions during one move. I would personally try some of these but I am made of old pretzels. Aloha and Good Luck

Kook's in Mexico:
This is a little movie my buddy Jason made in La Ventana Mexico. Looks like some fun action. I was wondering if there was a gravity vortex? Watch all the action on this rainy day. The front is slowly blowing through and we got light wind outta the north. I think there is a chance for wind tomorrow. Back to back to back swells are coming, we just need some wind. You really should's been here yesta day....

Jonnyboy...this is some funny shit again
Jonnyboy told about these guys from the mainland, I think Montana. This guy had minimum kite experience, loving the reef off Lanes. I love the way he tries to put his board on in 2 inches of water in the midst of a shorepound on a razor sharp reef. My buddy KC is constantly amazed about how little reaction there is when people breakdown at Kitebeach. Really, working and kiting on the Northshore is like working at a demolition project. Sure, in the beginning it is neat, then the carnage becomes ordinary almost mundane. The faces change, but the same stupid things happen over and over.

Maui Mini Movie: String Theory
Just rockin up a new movie... The summer has been long, hot, and windy. It's been flat a long time now. Grinding out lessons has been a double edged sword. Great students, hot weather. Everyday though, there is a a new trick in the back. Big air and big loops are call of the day. Here is my new movie...been grinding a long time now, ready for winter and surf.
